I came across this pen tool tutorial at Vectortuts and tried it with my class today. Almost everybody got it done and learned the basics of the pen tool in one class period.
It has instructions that the readers can follow and go at their own pace. It took a lot of energy to help the others when they got stuck, but somehow only a few got frustrated and quit. Now I think they are ready to finish their Taste of Northeast Metro 916 Gala logos, and begin their avatars next week. I’d recommend using this as an intro to the pen tool; it worked better than anything else I have ever tried. I told the class that if they can use the pen tool, they can do anything!
